Anna Zhyn is a Designer, an Artist, and an independent Graphic Communications Specialist. She is currently a Graphic Designer at the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation. She achieved an MA in Modern Languages and French, and a Certificate in Graphic Communications.
Anna is passionately involved in several activist projects, including the Journal ”Women in Politics: New Approaches to the Political Journal”, a mental health support project “Blu Matter Project”, as well as volunteering for the G(irls)20 design team. Raised in entrenched authoritarian Belarus, Anna investigates socially charged subjects, such as women’s rights, gender discrimination, and other types of social and cultural oppression. She addresses these topics with different media, including photography, painting, collage, small-scale sculpture and installations.
