Mary Danielle is a budding researcher and human rights activist. She recently completed her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto, specializing in Peace and Conflict Studies, with a minor in Political Science. Danielle is passionate about African politics, human rights, and the intersection of women’s rights and development. She has sought research, internship, or volunteer experiences that allow her to explore her interests, such as volunteering for the G(irls)20 research team.
Danielle most recently completed an independent research project on the framing of sexual violence by advocacy groups at the University of Cape Town’s Gender Health and Justice Research Unit, South Africa, for which she was awarded the University of Toronto’s Undergraduate Research Fund. She is also the recipient of several awards, including the University of Toronto’s Women’s Human Rights Institute Scholarship (Nepal), the Trudeau Centre for Peace, Conflict and Justice’s Fullerton (OSOTF) Scholarship, and the Town of New Tecumseth’s Links for Learning Scholarship, among others.
