Vision, Mission and Mandate

VISION

A world in which girls and women are able to participate fully in the economic growth, political stability and social innovations of their countries.

MISSION

Advance the full participation of girls and women globally through their economic and educational empowerment.

MANDATE

Our mandate is to work in partnership with individuals, foundations, the social profit sector, governments and the private sector to economically empower girls and women to be agents of economic and social change.

BACKGROUND

The G(irls)20 Summit convenes in advance of the G20 Leaders meeting and brings together one girl, aged 18-20 from each G20 country and one girl from the African Union.  2014 will welcome Pakistan, Afghanistan and a girl representing the MENA region to the table.

The objective of the Summit is to look at the Leaders’ agenda thru the lens of the economic empowerment and inclusion of girls and women. The delegates participate in panel discussions, attend workshops and caucus to discuss and promote tangible, scalable solutions toward financial prosperity & the economic and political empowerment of girls and women, ending with a delegate led press conference and communiqué that provides a blueprint on how the G20 Leaders can utilize and engage one of the best resources in the world – girls and women.
At the end of the G(irls)20 Summit, delegates will be mentored, supported and empowered to live up to their commitments and make social change a reality in their home country. Check out how delegates are making a difference.
