Spencer, Director of Global Education Integration at Intel, drives programs that empower girls and women through education, technology, and economic opportunity. Ms. Spencer is responsible for strategically integrating Intel Education efforts to support the education transformation initiatives of countries around the world. She leverages Intel technologies, education programs and ecosystem partnerships to empower girls and women as competent users of technology, putting them in touch with skills to pursue an entrepreneurial or employment path and advocate for themselves and their communities.
For over 40 years, Intel has been creating technologies that advance the way people live, work and learn. Intel is directly involved in education today to inspire and enable tomorrow’s innovation. Intel’s long-term commitment to empowering girls and women is grounded in the firm belief that to foster innovation and drive economic growth, we need to enable everyone—especially girls and women—with education and entrepreneurial skills. Through global Intel programs in over 80 countries, more than 800,000 girls have been directly engaged in learning technology and life skills and have gained the ability to advocate for themselves and their communities – essential to finding a path from poverty to health and opportunity.
Ms. Spencer’s 28-year career at Intel spans a wide range of information technology and management positions. Formerly, as Director of Corporate Strategic Alliances, she advanced Intel’s commitment to corporate responsibility by using technology to address some of the world’s biggest challenges, setting Intel’s external partner strategy, and developing partnerships with nonprofits, foundations and development agencies. Prior to this role, Ms. Spencer served as Intel’s Community Solutions Director and drove the successful management of Community Solutions projects around the world.
Ms. Spencer regularly speaks at numerous forums and conferences on global education, girls and women, and corporate social responsibility including the Global Business Coalition/Healthy Women, Healthy Economies, Business Civic Leadership Center, Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship, and Women’s Network for a Sustainable Future.
Born and raised in Detroit, Ms. Spencer received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan. She currently lives in Portland with her husband, where they spend their free time kayaking, biking and skiing.
