Coralie D’Souza
Director of Communications
G(irls)20 Summit 2012
A multi-disciplinary specialist, Coralie is able to develop breakthrough communications and social media campaigns and give a voice to some of the country’s best known leaders and initiatives. A true connector, she believes that while social media enables us to form communities of interest despite barriers of proximity, it only feeds our appetite for face-to-face interaction and need for astute intercultural competence.
Prior to joining the G(irls)20 Summit, Coralie spent 7 years working in politics at the municipal, provincial and federal levels as a press secretary, communications advisor and strategist to various political party leaders, cabinet ministers and change makers. She has worked on four general elections, planning and executing multilingual communications strategies.
Coralie is a regular panelist and published writer. She continues to consult on a range of initiatives for government, not-for-profit and private sectors, with a focus on communications and social media strategy.
Coralie’s commitment to the advancement of women is apparent from her work at the 2011 G(irls)20 Summit in Paris, France where she executed the social media strategy communicating the Summit’s on goings around the globe. She is also a former Operational Vice President, Diversity on the Executive Council of the Ontario Liberal Party and remains committed diversity and inclusion in Canada. She has also served on the University of Toronto Governing Council, and remains active in the University of Toronto community. Today, Coralie is a member of Anne’s Team, a team that runs in support of The Anne Hoehn Memorial Foundation, a public foundation that partners with initiatives and programs in the community that promote mental wellness.
