Soumaya Belaid, a Tunis native, is ecstatic to represent Tunisia for the first time in this year’s G(irls)20 Summit. Working towards a License Diploma in English and Literature, Soumaya is pursuing her interests in helping her country and be the source of change that Tunisia really needs.

Soumaya is an influential member of the youth-led Tunisian organization I WATCH, where works diligently to promote fair governance in Tunisia.

Despite her young age, Soumaya is considered a Police Reform Specialist in the North Africa. Her managerial skills surfaced when she was tasked and successfully led the Police Reform Challenges in Tunisia and Tunisia’s new constitution.

After being trained by many of the most recognized experts in the world, Soumaya has become very active in Areas of Women Empowerment and Women in Public Life. Having always been amazed by the United Nations (UN), she aspires to be one of the leaders that will help achieve its millennium goals. Her dream has just begun to come true, as the United Nations Development Programme has recently hired her as a consultant where she hopes to continue her career making positive change for girls and women.
